With Kiratto on the horizon, the PriPara actors will also be able to focus on other projects. Miyu Kubota (Sophie) is sticking around as one of the main characters of Kiratto, but otherwise, it looks like the cast will be rebooted. So what has the cast been up to since then?

Aroma and Mikan’s VAs have done the ending theme… to Pop Team Epic. That show’s brand of nonsense is quite different from PriPara or Milky Holmes, but I also haven’t seen it, so I can’t offer much either way, other than noting the oddity of such a thing. And now, back to overcoming walls.

Aroma and Mikan are dedicated to their characters, to the point that it’s impacting their school work. If there’s one thing that Michiru has over them, it’s that she actually gets decent grades. So in order to make sure her friends of a sort can keep being idols, it’s up to Michiru to improve their grades. For Mikan, it’s simply a matter of phrasing things in a way where she can get it.

For Aroma… she has to pull a Spaceman From Pluto by pretending to be Satan in order to get Aroma to listen. Her efforts do succeed, though. While I don’t think Aroma and Mikan will stop being troublemakers anytime soon, they do care about being good people these days. It’s a long way from when they were trying to win idoldom through trickery and deceit.

Speaking of bonds, Shuuka and Galala have also grown much closer since Galala made a sincere effort to become a better person. But she’s not used to walking around so much in the daytime, and it’s taking a toll on her. While this episode was otherwise fairly light and school-focused, there were elements of it that hint we’re getting closer to a bigger confrontation to come.

Though I’d like a new song at some point. I was hoping that Michiru’s revelation would lead to a quartet song with Garumageddon, but such a thing was not meant to be. Perhaps, like Aikatsu before it, the show is light on music because the universe is going to restart soon, so all the music-writing talent is focusing on there instead.

NEXT WEEK

The final wall to overcome is Shuuka herself. Go for it, Yui!
